A period 1930s design supplied unglazed, so you can add the glass that suits your home. A large central top panel draws light into the hall, over the classic vertical lower panels, all in solid European oak. About the 1930's Unglazed Oak Door This 1930s door has the era's classic large central top panel, supplied unglazed with oak beading so you can fit your own glass, from a traditional leaded design to a modern frosted panel. Its generous top section means plenty of daylight in the hallway whichever glazing you choose. If you would prefer a fully solid version, see the solid-panel 1930's door. Handcrafted solid oak Each door is made to order in the UK from hand-selected, prime-grade European solid oak, so every door has its own grain and character. It is built using traditional twin 16mm hardwood dowel joints, one of the oldest and strongest ways of assembling a door. The door is 44mm thick, available in four standard sizes and to bespoke sizes on request, and comes complete with a matching oak weather bar. Glazing The door is supplied unglazed with all the oak beading needed to install your own glazing panel, so you can match the glass to your home's period and let in as much or as little light as you like. Finishing & Care This door arrives prefinished and ready to hang, professionally finished to bring out the oak's natural tone and grain. Like any external oak door, it is best fitted in a sheltered spot, under a porch or canopy, rather than fully exposed to driving rain or strong sun. Timber is a natural material and can move a little as it settles in; the occasional minor adjustment is a normal part of looking after a solid oak door. Although supplied prefinished, this door should be re-coated roughly every six months with a suitable external treatment such as the Impranol range, and kept dry through the use of a canopy or similar.
