The cable assembly actually consists of two separate cable assemblies: The first cable connects the KEY IN/OUT connector on the DMX-40 to your straight key and the key in on your external transceiver, using either a 3.5mm or ¼" plug. The second cable connects the AUDIO IN connector on the MMX or DMX-40 to the headphone jack on your external transceiver (both 3.5mm and ¼" plugs are supplied), and an external powered speaker.
