If your hose reel was purchased before April 2023, it has a threaded axle. This kit comes with our latest "threadless" axle, which accommodates our latest "clamp-on" swivel (item # 4291). To upgrade your older hose reel with this Extra-Capacity Kit, you will also need to upgrade your reel with the 4291 swivel. If your hose reel has a brass swivel that looks like any of those pictured here, you'll need to upgrade to the 4291 swivel. All of the hose reels that used a threaded axle had serial numbers within the range listed below. If your reel's serial number falls within this range, you'll need to upgrade to the 4291 swivel.
