Usually placed in a hallway where there is daily activity. You can add one upstairs or in another part of the home to give a clearer picture of movement. Motion Sensor Note: Due to the nature of this device, it's difficult estimating the life of the batteries due to the variability of motion detection in different situations. The batteries could last 12 months with one or two detections per day, or could run out in 3 months in a busy location. We recommend powering the motion sensor using a USB plug and micro-USB cable.
