Extralite uses straight pull, triple butted bladed spokes and the hub flanges are pressed right out to the outside for maximum bracing angles - both front and rear which radically increases lateral rigidity. Combined this with a high spoke count of 24 + 28 these wheels have a real sharp snap when putting down the gas. A very solid climbing wheelset but also equally good in breakaways, the high end Extralite SPX/SPM hubs feature a unique bearing preload system and low friction seals that keep these wheels spinning...and spinning. The Micro-Tuner bearing preload is really easy to use and means you can get bearing preload set accurately each time also reducing bearing friction.
