The EZPZ Queen Rearing Mini Kit is centered around the award winning EZPZ Queen Cage and includes everything you need to raise and protect dozens of queens in your apiary. This is very important for successful grafting and to use with the EZPZ components. If you've never grafted before, don't worry! With a little practice you'll be doing it easily. Here's a great method using this kit: Simple Queen Rearing Technique I also recommend the book Queen Rearing Essentials to hone your skills. 15 EZPZ Queen Cages 15 EZPZ Candy Caps 30 JZBZ Cell Cups 1 EZPZ Cell Bar 1 Brood Breaker Cage 1 syringe and blunt needle 1 Marking pen. 2 frame brackets 1 grafting tool Frame Stand The frame brackets should be attached to a new deep frame with the U's facing up and the top of the bracket at or near the top bar as shown. It allows for 2 bars of cells if you're adding cages on the bars or 3 bars if not. Use the bar included in the kit and add more as you grow. The brackets may be attached with small screws or glue. Gorilla Super Glue works well. Use plenty and get it done days in advance so the fumes don't discourage the nurse bees. The cell bar halves simply press together. No glue is needed. The syringe is for adding a drop of honey and a drop of water into the troughs at the bottom of each cage. Leave the long needle off to start and suck up a bunch of honey into the syringe. Place the needle on the tip and carefully add a drop into one trough of each cage. Then empty the syringe and refill it with water. Add the needle and practice dispensing a drop or two outside the cages (it's actually harder than honey because it tends to squirt out too much) before applying a couple of drops into the other trough in each cage.
