The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role, all-weather fighter-bomber developed by McDonnell Douglas, later produced by Boeing, and introduced into service in 1989. Based on the F-15 air superiority platform, it was redesigned for deep-strike missions while retaining full air-to-air capability. It features a tandem two-seat cockpit, with a pilot and Weapons Systems Officer, advanced radar, terrain-following systems, and the ability to carry a large payload of precision-guided and conventional munitions. Over 400 F-15Es have been built, along with export variants like the F-15I and F-15K. The Strike Eagle first saw combat during the Gulf War, where it conducted long-range strike missions against heavily defended targets in Iraq, including Scud missile sites and infrastructure. It proved highly effective in day and night operations, often flying deep into enemy territory at low altitude. Since then, it has been used extensively in conflicts such as the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, delivering precision strikes while also providing air superiority when required. Known for its range, payload, and survivability, the F-15E remains one of the most capable strike aircraft in service today.
