Norihiko Terayama Born in 1977 in Tochigi Prefecture. After graduating from Chuo College of Technology in 1988, he studied at Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. While studying abroad, he experienced the essence of Dutch conceptual design, leading him to train at Studio Richard Hutten, MVRDV (Rotterdam, Netherlands-based architecture and urban design practice). After returning to Japan, he then established his design studio, Studio Note. Norihiko's works have a strong impact created by his exceptional imagination and meticulous detail, as well as a definite sense nurtured from his experiences abroad. What he seeks is to “balance" the beauty derived from the laws of nature, with the aesthetic sense of humanity. While maintaining an appropriate distance from boundaries of uncontrollable nature and accepting it, Norihiko refines the object to make it more elegant and beautiful through the power of design.
