Pinch the bristles and gently squeeze out makeup residue. Place a dime-sized dollop of mild soap (and olive oil for natural bristles) onto your palm or directly on the bristles. Massage the bristles in soft circular motions on your palm while rinsing. Stop rinsing when the water runs clear. Avoid submerging the bristles or wetting the ferrule.
