Hydrosols are a byproduct of the steam distillation process that we use to extract essential oil. Also known as 'essential water', hydrosol also contains the essence of the plant, just in a much milder form. The word hydrosol, ‘hydro’ water and ‘sol’ solution means 'water solution', referring to the fact that a hydrosol is water containing plant molecules.
