Size:66 x 42 inStep into the ethereal world of 'Fades Away', an original painting that captures the essence of a transformative forest scene. Framed in a sleek black floating wooden frame, this magnificent piece measures 66 x 42 inches and is brought to life by Canadian abstract artist Blu Smith. In 'Fades Away', Blu Smith transcends traditional landscapes, inviting viewers into an abstract, woodland realm where reality softly blurs into fantasy. The canvas pulsates with layers of vibrant teal, sky blue, moss green, and stormy grey—colours that dance together to mimic sunlight filtering through an unseen canopy above. Fleeting touches of coral pink and lavender hint at hidden depths within the forest's heart, suggesting flowers or perhaps a dawn yet to break. Smith's technique—a marriage of thick impasto applications and delicate glazes—creates a tactile surface that begs closer inspection. Here, trees and foliage emerge not as defined shapes but as whispers on the wind; forms suggested rather than detailed allow each observer's imagination to roam free within the painting's bounds. Rooted in Blu Smith’s philosophy that art should evolve and breathe, 'Fades Away' stands as a testament to his journey from realism towards expressive abstraction. This artwork offers not just aesthetic beauty but also an invitation: to explore the ever-changing relationship between structure and space, light and shadow—a mesmerising addition for collectors drawn to pieces that resonate deeply with nature’s transient beauty.
