Norrona's lightest and most breathable mountaineering hiking pants. These lightweight, softshell pants are made for mountaineering and are suitable for all-season outdoor activities. The main fabric is a high-quality flex1 softshell fabric, and we use this material because it offers excellent movement, durability, windproofness, high breathability, and effective moisture transportation. The fabric is a 200g/m (denier 90) 69% recycled polyamide, 19% recycled polyester and 12% elastane double weaved flex1 fabric, a mid-weight quality perfect for year-round use. It is treated with PFC-free DWR to provide extra water repellency. Key features include a Custom-Fit waist System, mesh-lined ventilation from the hips to the knee, two hand pockets, a back pocket, and a thigh pocket – all with zippers. They also have a hidden gaiter hook on the inside of the lower leg hem, and a flexible lower leg solution with a zipper closed gusset to increase the area of use. The pants have a regular fit with articulated knees to improve mobility during vertical movement. They can be worn over hiking boots and light ski touring boots. These products do not have a waterproof membrane but may have reinforced areas. They will, however, hold a lot of wind, but by being stagnant or not having insulation layers underneath, strong winds and temperatures below 5 degrees will give cold spots. 2/6 Waterproofness: Cotton and natural fibre products that have been treated with durable water repellent. Will withstand small amounts of rain. If worn outside in the winter, they will not absorb that much moisture. If it is re-impregnated, moisture will pull less upwards and inwards. 1/6 Insulation: Has no insulating properties but can still work well on top of insulation layers and provide heat through wind protection. Thin one-layer fabrics are often super packable and lightweight shell products. Will feel cold during windy conditions if you don’t have any layering underneath. 6/6 Breathability: Norronas most breathable and moisture-wicking outer layers also provide some protection. Breathes extremely well and provides good sweat transportation even during high-intensity activities, but if the temperature and activity level is very high then you may experience some moisture (this rate naturally correlates with the degree of protection as well). Will perform optimal moisture transportation when it’s around 10 – 15 degrees Celsius. 4/6 Durability: Durable yet pretty lightweight outer layers.
