Field Notes' Autumn 2025 edition is a homage to the purple coneflower, the false foxglove, and the common chicory - flowers that remain even when the days get shorter and colder. Drawn in the style of early-20th-century "publishers' bindings," the covers are printed with three subtle metallic inks on Mohawk’s new “Midnight Blue” 100#C Mosaic stock with a “burlap” finish. The inside back covers features a bit of data about each flower, plus a scaled-down list of Practical Applications. Proudly printed by the good people of The Graphic Arts Studio, LLC, Barrington, Ill. Cover: Mohawk Mosaic 100# C “Midnight Blue” in Burlap, with a thick, brute force application of “Coneflower Mauve” and “Deep Denim” soy-based Superior inks. Innards: Domtar Lynx Opaque 60#T “White,” with a fine, 1-color application of “Autumn Sky” soy-based Superior ink. Cover and innards printed on a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102S six-color printing press. Bound with a Muller Martini 6-pocket saddle stitcher with cover feeder/scorer, with appreciation to Samuel Slocum, George W. McGill, and William J. Brown, the “Founding Fathers of the Staple. Corners precisely rounded to a 3/8" (9.5mm) radius with a Challenge DCM double round-corner machine. Ruled lines: 1/4" (6.4mm). Memo book dimensions are 3-1/2" × 5-1/2" (89mm × 140mm).
