The game of Fanorona has a long history, with its roots in Arabian move-and-capture games. The people of Madagascar adapted the rules to boards of various sizes, and Fanoron-Dimy i s one of the smaller variants. The method of capture is unusual, in that approaching an opponent's piece, or withdrawing from it, will capture it, plus any enemy pieces in a straight line beyond it!
