Early 20th-century adjustable brass desk or task lamp by Faries Manufacturing Company, USA, circa 1910–1920. The lamp features a heavy stepped circular brass base supporting a long adjustable arm with articulated fittings at the base and socket. The original-style domed shade has an unusual decorative embossed border around its perimeter and can be positioned to direct light over a desk or work surface. The brass retains a well-developed aged surface with oxidation, discoloration and wear throughout. We have intentionally left the finish unpolished.
