This classic looking, sepia postcard features Farley Mowat as a young teen (1935) in Vagabond, his family's canoe, which he learned to paddle and sail in. ''...we had a love affair , the canoe and I. She was a part of me.'' One of Canada's most internationally recognized and award-winning authors, Mr. Mowat donated his beloved 1920's Peterborough Canoe Co. canoe to the Museum in 2006 with the custom sail, leeboards and rudder he added himself.
