A hero in his own time, Balbo was portrayed as the man who helped bring the Duce to power. He opposed the creation of the Italian Empire by conquering first Ethiopia and later Albania. He was against Italian intervention in the Spanish Civil War and was an outspoken and consistent opponent of the Mussolinian tilt toward Hithler. Blaine Taylor was born in Washington.
