Young Fava seeds can be eaten raw and dried beans can be shelled and eaten cooked. High protein-to-carbohydrate ratio. Fava bean seeds are easy to grow when planted early. Beans planted after the frost will usually develop mold, so plant as soon as ground can be worked in early spring. Planting Instructions: Unlike common phaseolus vulgaris beans, favas love cold weather. Plant 1.5" deep, spaced 6" apart in early spring.
