First FAQ Question, is AIDA2 level1 or 2?AIDA2 is a Level1 Beginner Course, that can be direct entry for those comfortable with water.AIDA2 - Level 1 Beginner Course The course focuses on the mastery of relaxation, breathing and mental techniques for better breath hold (apnea) underwater. Underwater finning and safety rescue techniques will also be taught to help students be comfortable with underwater apnea while training with a qualified buddy. Topics Covered: Introduction to Freediving Freediving Breathing Cycle Relaxation techniques Basic Physiology of Freediving Frenzel Equalization (Additional Topic) Freediving Techniques - Dynamic finning, duck dives Safety in Freediving - Buddy System and Rescue Equipment in Freediving Freediving Disciplines Openwater Assessment Day The course is conducted over 2 non-consecutive days to cover two components:Day1 (Pool) - AIDA2 Pool Only(After the Pool you can decide to complete the open water component for AIDA2 full certification - $250 top up) Day2 (Openwater) - AIDA2 Full Certification Prerequisites & Passing Requirements: Prerequisites: Be 18 years of age or older (16 or 17 years old with parent or guardian consent) Comfortable swimming AIDA2 Passing Requirements: Have good skill technique according to the Instructor’s judgment. Be able to perform all the pool & openwater exercises satisfactorily. Pass the theory exam with a minimum score of 75% to pass (28/38 questions to pass) POOL REQUIREMENTS ★ Perform a static apnea of at least 2’00” ★ Perform a dynamic apnea with fins distance of at least 40 meters ★ Buddy Rescue in Pool OPENWATER REQUIREMENTS ★ Dive in constant weight depth to at least 12 meters comfortably (max 20m) ★ Perform buddy rescue from depth of 5-10m ★ Efficient Duck Dives, Orientation & Recovery Breaths*Above require is to be demostrated in good technique You may choose to take the pool component first before committing to the open water component. Open water dates will be scheduled after the completion of pool component.
