A Catalog of Creatures! While the player characters are always the stars of every adventure, the most important supporting roles are almost always played by their foes, whether they take the form of terrible monsters with strange and awesome powers, or NPCs who rely on skill and training to rival adventurers in combat. In either case, it is often the abilities and powers of these opponents that make each combat a memorable and exciting experience, and so each installment of Fearsome Foes presents a number of new opponents connected to a specific theme, each of which has fun and memorable abilities for GMs to unleash on unsuspecting players. This installment provides six new types of animated objects, which make suitable challenges for adventurers of any stripe. While all of these monsters are animated objects, they aren’t all statues and suits of armor. Instead, a wide variety of different types of objects were selected, each with unique and exciting powers and abilities related to what they are. In this book you’ll find: The animated bookshelf (level 1), which can toss its contents at foes singly or in a horrible flurry of paper, and can deliberately fall on a foe to attempt to pin them to the ground. The animated electric chair (level 5), which is not only capable of grabbing victims and strapping them in, but can electrify captured foes, or even release a burst of electrical energy. The animated oven (level 8), which can release blasts of flame and clouds of smoke, as well as swallowing creatures and roasting them alive inside it. And many more!
