It features intricate brown and cream marbling across its body and a tall, flowing dorsal fin that resembles a feather — giving the species its name. Native to Africa’s Niger and Chad River basins, this peaceful yet active bottom-dweller thrives in well-oxygenated aquariums with driftwood, rocks, and hiding spots. Featherfins are nocturnal but quickly become bold and visible once settled, making them an attractive and useful addition to community setups.
