ition inspired by La Belle Époque. In particular, imagery inspired by Steinlen’s iconic Le Chat Noir poster art. The month of October also presents a unique opportunity for our participating artists to explore the historic influence of the black cat in this, a distinctly Parisian way. Laura Buss began studying art at the School of Visual Arts in New York, with a focus in photography. But she soon succumbed to the lure of the wider world, dropped out and traveled, and worked as a painter of signs and portraits. Her craft took her into varied directions, including an ongoing career in tattooing, to return to a heavy focus on oil painting and figurative work. She is based in San Francisco. This piece will be on exhibit through November 1, 2014 and will be shipped within a week of the exhibition closing date.
