For sale at 1000 VASES from 10-13 September 2026 in Paris during Paris Design Week and Maison & Objet. See 1000vases.com & @1000vases.This series hurt to make. Literally. UNTAMED is thrown on the wheel using raw black clay packed with coarse stone inclusions. The material resists. During making, the stones cut into the hands shaping it; the clay pushes back rather than giving in easily. After throwing, each form is further built and altered by hand. That resistance is the point. UNTAMED is about continuing when something becomes difficult. About force, stubbornness and refusing the easier route. The surface is left raw and uncompromising, preserving the character of a material that was never meant to behave perfectly. These objects are a tribute to resilience — to the marks left by struggle and to the strength that comes from continuing anyway. Toughness isn't pretty. But it's real. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. — Series: UNTAMED— Object: UNTAMED IV— Wheel-thrown with hand-built additions— Raw black clay with coarse stone inclusions— Unglazed exterior— 19,5 cm high × 15 cm wide— One-of-one, no two pieces identical— Made in the Brute Ceramics studio in Vreeland, the Netherlands This is a one-of-one piece.
