Fernbush (Chamaebatiaria millefolium) is a tough yet elegant shrub, perfect for Utah’s dry climates. It's native in the south and west of Utah at middle elevations. Its unique, fer n-like, aromatic foliage stays lush even in poor soils, while clusters of creamy-white flowers bloom in mid-to-late summer, attracting bees and butterflies. Highly drought-tolerant and deer-resistant, it thrives in full sun, will tolerate some shade and requires very little maintenance. It can withstand heavy pruning although doesn't typically get larger than 6'. With its year-round appeal and resilience, Fernbush is a staple shrub for Wasatch front native gardens. Show more
