Key Features Hard-Hitting Fastening Up to 1,593 in-lbs of torque gives this impact driver the muscle for structural screws, lag screws, and demanding fastening without stepping up to a bulkier tool. Three Speeds Plus T-Mode Three speed levels let you match output to the fastener, while T-mode is built for self-tapping screws and adjusts as the screw moves from sheet metal into wood. Wrist-Friendly Impact The tangential hammer mechanism drives the fastener instead of twisting the tool in your hand, which helps reduce kickback and makes overhead or awkward fastening less tiring. Overview The Festool 577613 TID 18 Cordless 18V Impact Driver BASIC, Tool Only is a compact cordless fastening tool built for high-torque screwdriving in wood, sheet metal, and general jobsite work. This is an impact driver designed for fastening demanding screws with less strain on your wrist. Model Number: 577613. If you want a small driver that still hits hard, this one is built around that idea. On paper, the numbers are strong where they need to be. The 18V platform, three-speed transmission, and up to 3,200 RPM no-load speed give you range from controlled driving to fast production work. When the job calls for impact force, the driver delivers up to 4,500 impacts per minute and a maximum torque rating of 1,593 in-lbs. That matters when you are running long fasteners, driving into framing lumber, or working with hardware that can bog down a lighter-duty tool. Festool pairs that output with a brushless EC-TEC motor and a robust hammer mechanism, which is the real story here. A lot of compact impact drivers feel good in the hand but start to show their limits under repeated heavy fastening. This one is built for repeated use, and Festool specifically calls out the durability of the hammer mechanism and the long service life of the motor system. For pros who use an impact driver daily, that is more important than a flashy feature list. The control setup is practical too. You get three speed levels plus a dedicated T-mode for self-tapping screws. Instead of forcing you to feather the trigger every time you move between materials, T-mode is meant to detect the transition between sheet metal and wood and adapt speed automatically. If you do metal-to-wood fastening, brackets, or light steel connections, that can help reduce stripped heads, broken screws, and overdriving. Festool also did the little things right for real jobsite use. The 1/4 inch tool-free holder makes bit changes quick. Integrated bit storage keeps a spare bit on the tool instead of buried in a pouch. An LED helps light up the fastener location in cabinets, corners, and framing bays. The belt clip mounts on both sides, which is useful whether you carry right- or left-handed. None of that is gimmicky. It is just the stuff that saves time when you are moving. Where this driver stands out most is how it delivers impact force without the usual arm twist. Festool describes the hammer mechanism as kickback-free, with the impact action driving the screw rather than trying to spin the tool around it. In plain terms, you get less back-torque through the handle. That is a real benefit when you are working one-handed, overhead, or in a tight spot where a sudden twist can throw off the fastener or your wrist. Weight is another reason this tool makes sense for installers and finish crews. Festool lists the bare tool at 1.98 lbs, with other product copy citing about 2.12 lbs in use. Either way, it is clearly a lightweight cordless impact driver. That low weight, combined with the compact body, makes it a strong fit for cabinet work, punch-list tasks, deck hardware, electrical supports, metal framing connections, and general construction fastening where you want power without dragging around a large tool all day. This Festool impact driver runs on the Festool 18V battery system and is sold here as a BASIC tool-only configuration, so it is aimed at users already in the Festool cordless platform or buyers who want to build around it. It is a smart buy for remodelers, carpenters, installers, and serious DIY users who care about compact size, strong fastening performance, and better control during repetitive screwdriving. If your work includes self-tapping screws, overhead fastening, or tight-space installs, this tool is built for exactly that kind of use. Festool 577613 TID 18 Cordless 18V Impact Driver BASIC, Tool Only on the Job This is where the TID 18 makes sense. It is compact enough to carry all day, but it has the torque and impact rate to handle real framing and structural fastening instead of just light assembly work. Maximum torque: 1,593 in-lbs Up to 4,500 impacts per minute for stubborn fasteners Lightweight body helps reduce fatigue during overhead and repetitive fastening Work Better in Tight, Awkward Spaces Big power is useful, but only if the tool fits where the screw is. The compact housing and low weight help you keep the bit straight in corners, between framing members, and above shoulder height. Compact design improves access in confined installation areas Kickback-free tangential hammer action helps protect your wrist Integrated LED improves visibility at the fastener point Built for Fast, Controlled Screwdriving The speed range is broad enough to cover delicate starts and fast production driving. That matters when you switch between smaller hardware, larger construction fasteners, and self-tapping screws in the same day. No-load speed: 0 to 1,200 / 0 to 2,000 / 0 to 3,200 RPM Three speeds plus T-mode for self-tapping screw applications 1/4 inch quick-change holder keeps bit swaps fast What's in the Box (1) Festool TID 18 Impact Driver (1) Belt clip (1) Systainer³ case Battery and charger are not included with this BASIC tool-only version.
