As luxury a problem as having too much signal can be considered to be, it often can be troublesome and its necessary to reduce the strength. For all UV/VIS/NIR applications where l ight intensity needs reducing, our inline fibre optic attenuator is a great solution. This device is an iris attenuator which controls light throughput to avoid detector saturation. Its connects inbetween two SMA terminated fibre optic cables and the light source and consists of two UV/VIS/NIR collimating lenses mounted on either side of the iris.
