Ficus hurlimannii seeds grow into a fig tree from the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu — named after the Swiss botanist Hans Hürlimann (1921–1996), who made important botanical collections in Vanuatu (then the New Hebrides) during the 1950s and contributed significantly to the knowledge of Vanuatu's flora.
