Ottawa-based artist Heidi Conrod is a formally trained painter whose practice has expanded over 30 years into a richly multidisciplinary process. Today, she blends traditional pain ting with field-study sketches, research, her own photography, and emerging AI tools - weaving these sources into atmospheric works that reveal themselves gradually, inviting a slower, more attentive way of looking. Through gentle layering of translucent washes, gestural lines, and shifting forms, the works in this collection reflect a sense of emergence: shapes multiply, colours respond to one another, and the canvas seems to breathe.
