This decorative piece is formed from a smooth white stoneware. It is free-form sculpted. Clay is added in organic lumps, and then shaped entirely by hand to allow the form to emerge organically. The figurine is left unglazed so the piece retains the raw surface of the clay, allowing the material itself to remain the primary expression of form. Each bust and figurine is shaped from clay and left unglazed, allowing surfaces to retain the tactile memory of hand and process.
