The presence of water or solids in the incoming fuel will be indicated by an increase in the pressure differential or a decrease in the flow rate as the cartridge reaches its maxim um capacity for solids, water or a combination of both. When either happens, the cartridge should be replaced. Each monitor cartridge is constructed of various water absorbent media, plus fine filtration layers pleated to give you long life. The perforated metal center tube provides for balanced flow and structural strength. The center tube supports both the pleated section and absorbent media when hit with a localized slug of water.
