Ultra-fine = more distance Appalachian Silk is a rarity in fishing line—an ultra-fine braid that very few companies truly produce at these diameters. Less diameter means less air resistance and less drag through the guides, which translates into noticeably better casting distance with small baits from weightless to 1/16 oz and beyond. Our 4LB Micro Braid is only 0.05mm (0.0019")—more than three times thinner than typical 4LB nylon monofilament around 0.17mm.
