An Afshar rug from the Kerman area in SW Persia, 1920s-1930s. An intricate pattern of dense motifs with eight pointed stars and other small details on an Ivory field. The borders a re largely geometric but still flowing and it is amusing to see how the weaver has varied the dimensions to fit the shorter ends. Lovely, glossy goat hair fringes. This is a pleasing and genuinely antique rug. Overall wear, slight loss to ends and frayed selvedges. Thin pile. 188 x 137cm Show more
