Fire Agate is a beautiful variety of chalcedony with chances of "fire-like" iridescent flashes. Sometimes this flash is visible on the surface but typically is revealed through polishing. Similar to Moss Agate, most of these pieces won't have traditional banding. They are great for small tumbling, home decor or micro polishing. Feel free to request additional pictures if needed. Also, these agates can be successfully tumbled in a rotary or vibratory tumbler. They require extra cushioning (ceramic media) and should be monitored and checked daily. The goal is to remove host rock without removing the thin layer of "fire" effect on the chalcedony. Hand-polishing is the safer option if you plan on using these pieces for jewelry.
