The "Fire Bird" is part of my Birds of the Elements collection, composing of birds and plants under an elemental theme. Fire, the element of energy, action, transformation, and kno wledge. Represented in this piece by the baltimore oriole and peach. The baltimore oriole, a New World blackbird, loves open woodlands. In the fall, they feed on nectar and fruit, such as peaches. The peach originated in China, and its seeds travelled along the Silk Road to the rest of the world. This oriole is perched on a peach tree that was burned by fire.
