One of our more ornamental pokers with a gothic leaf accenting the handle and decorative twists. It is of a medium length ideal for bon fires and/or for use in a sauna or wood stov e. Carol uses a Treadle Hammer to forge this dynamic leaf using hand tooling. Gothic leaves were originally forged as decorative elements on objects such as lamps. We learnt this 15th Century style of leaf from Ernie Dorrill III, who demonstrated at the 2014 Guild of Metalsmiths Fall Conference, and so we thank Ernie and the guild for the opportunity. While warm, the poker is dipped in vegetable oil, then washed and sprayed with a clear lacquer to ensure it's corrosion resistant. Local to the Thunder Bay District?
