To give attendees an understanding of the causes of fire, how to prevent a fire and what to do in the event of a fire. This is a follow on course from the Basic Fire Safety training course. Course objectivesOn completion of the course attendees will be able to: Identify fire hazards and know what to do in the event of a fire Identify if your premises are equipped with appropriate fire alarms, detectors, emergency lighting and firefighting equipment Ensure fire equipment is inspected and maintained as frequently as necessary Advise staff on measures to reduce the risk of fire occurring, and on action to take in the event of an emergency Select and use the correct fire extinguishers Course content: Fire Disasters Irish Fire Safety Legislation The fire triangle Fire Classes Fire Prevention Fire emergency and evacuation Human behaviour in a fire Active and Passive Fire Protection Use of fire extinguishers – theory and practical Role and responsibilities of fire wardens in a fire and on a daily basis Fire evacuation procedures (site specific) PEEPs Course debrief Test CertificationOn successful completion of the course and required test, participants will receive a Fire Warden certificate.
