It is a good fit for larger peacock and hap aquariums where males have room to show color without constant crowding. Origin and Habitat Native Region: Undu Reef, Tanzania, Lake Malawi. Natural Habitat: Intermediate habitat. Physical Characteristics Size: 7-8 inches. Coloration: Mature males develop stronger display color; females and juveniles are more subdued. Body Shape: Laterally compressed hap body with an active swimming profile. Behavior and Temperament Temperament: Mildly aggressive. Social Behavior: Works well with similar-sized Malawi haps and peacocks in a properly stocked, spacious setup. Aquarium Care Tank Size: A 75 gallon aquarium or larger is recommended. Water Parameters: 74-84°F, pH 7.4-8.4, hard water. Tank Setup: Provide open swimming space, sand, and rockwork along the back or sides for structure.
