EN 1143-1 Grade 1 Certified Security The Burton Firesec 10/60 MKII has been independently attack tested and certified by ECB-S to EN 1143-1 Grade 1. This provides a manufacturer recommended: £10,000 Cash Rating or £100,000 Valuables Rating The safe is also: AiS insurance approved Built to the UK Police Preferred Specification – Secured by Design Independently certified by ECB-S Rated to EN 1143-1 Grade 1 This makes the Firesec suitable for protecting jewellery, watches, cash and other valuable possessions where recognised burglary resistance is required. 60-Minute Certified Fire Protection Where the Firesec particularly distinguishes itself is its exceptional fire protection. The safe is independently tested and certified to EN 15659 LFS 60P, providing up to 60 minutes of fire protection for paper documents. During testing, the safe is exposed to temperatures of up to 900°C, with the internal environment required to remain within the limits specified by the certification standard. This makes the Firesec particularly suitable for protecting important paper records alongside valuables, including: Property documents Wills and legal paperwork Insurance documents Financial records Business records Contracts Certificates Passports and personal documents The LFS 60P certification relates specifically to paper documents and should not be interpreted as certified protection for digital media, hard drives or other heat-sensitive data-storage devices. One Safe for Security & Fire Protection Many safes are designed primarily to protect against either burglary or fire. The Firesec 10/60 MKII provides both within one independently certified security solution. Its Grade 1 burglary certification protects cash and valuables against physical attack, while its 60-minute LFS 60P fire certification provides additional protection for important paperwork. For homes and businesses storing a mixture of jewellery, watches, cash and important documents, this can remove the need to choose between a conventional security safe and a dedicated document fire safe. Key or Electronic Locking The Firesec is available with a choice of high-security Key or Electronic locking, allowing the safe to be selected around the customer's preferred method of access. Key Locking A high-security double-bitted key lock provides straightforward mechanical operation without the need to remember a PIN code or replace batteries. This can be particularly attractive for customers who prefer the simplicity of conventional key access. Electronic Locking The electronic option provides convenient PIN-code access without the need to carry a safe key. Electronic locking can be particularly useful in commercial environments or households where convenient everyday access is preferred. Whichever option is selected, the locking system forms part of the safe's certified security specification. Three Sizes – 34 to 97 Litres The Firesec 10/60 MKII is available in three practical sizes. All three sizes provide the same EN 1143-1 Grade 1 security certification, £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating and EN 15659 LFS 60P fire protection. Flexible Internal Storage Each Firesec is supplied with a height-adjustable shelf, allowing the internal compartment to be configured around the contents being protected. This makes it suitable for storing combinations of: Jewellery and watch boxes Cash Important documents Property records Financial paperwork Business records Passports and certificates Other valuable possessions The adjustable shelf can be repositioned or removed where larger items need to be accommodated. Secure Base Fixing Correct installation is an important part of maintaining the intended security of an insurance-rated safe. The Firesec 10/60 MKII incorporates base fixing provision and should be securely anchored to an appropriate structural surface. The range weighs between approximately 101kg and 191kg, making professional installation particularly worthwhile where access is difficult or the final positioning and anchoring need to be carefully considered. Professional delivery and installation is available from SafeFort. SafeFort Recommendation The Burton Firesec 10/60 MKII is one of the strongest choices in the SafeFort range for customers who need to protect both high-value possessions and important paper documents. Its EN 1143-1 Grade 1 certification and recommended £10,000 cash / £100,000 valuables rating provide serious independently recognised burglary protection, while the additional EN 15659 LFS 60P certification provides an impressive 60 minutes of certified fire protection for paper documents. This makes the Firesec particularly attractive for protecting a combination of jewellery, luxury watches, cash, property documents, wills, financial records and other important paperwork within a single safe. For residential installations, the compact 34-litre Size 1 provides a particularly attractive combination of capacity, security and fire protection. The 51-litre Size 2 provides additional flexibility where larger quantities of paperwork or valuables need to be accommodated. For businesses, professional offices or customers with substantial document-storage requirements, the 97-litre Size 3 provides considerably greater capacity while retaining exactly the same Grade 1 burglary and 60-minute fire certifications. The choice between Key and Electronic locking also allows the Firesec to be tailored to the customer's preferred method of access. For customers who require certified burglary protection and significantly greater document fire protection than the typical 30-minute rating found on many security safes, the Burton Firesec 10/60 MKII is an excellent all-round solution.
