Rooted in modern jazz and enriched with elements of Kazakh folk music, the album reflects Loginov's journey from his childhood in Kazakhstan to his artistic life in Amsterdam. Across eight tracks, he blends soulful melodies, bold improvisation, and spiritual intensity, creating music that speaks as much through feeling as through sound.The album draws inspiration from wide landscapes, first love, and the freedom found in improvisation. Traditional influences surface most clearly in Steppe Sons and a striking modal-jazz reimagining of the Kazakh folk song Yapurai, while moments of intimacy emerge in the a cappella trumpet solo Luiza and the lyrical title track First Impression, featuring vocalist Carolina Gemmell.
