First Sweater Class Instructor: Vincent Williams In our First Sweater class, we will knit a toddler sized top down raglan sweater, and learn magic loop in the process! Required skills: Advanced beginner. Pattern reading, casting on, knitting, purling, binding off. We will teach you everything else! Purchase before the start of class: Good Old Raglan by Twisted Knitwear (free!) Yarn - choose from Malabrigo Rios (200 g - 2 hanks) Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok (200 g - 4 hanks) Isager Eco Baby (200 g -4 hanks) US 4 and US 6 - 16” and 32" or larger circular needles, at least 6 stitch markers purl strings tapestry needle The Good Old Raglan sweater pattern accommodates multiple sizes; for this class we will knit the 9-12 month sized sweater. Knit before the start of class: Cast on 70 stitches, place beginning of round marker and join for knitting in the round. Establish 1 x 1 ribbing: (k1, p1) around. Work 6 rounds in 1x1 rib. This is following the Good Old Raglan pattern for the 9-12 month size. Materials for the class must be purchased at The Craftivist.
