Taken mid-October of 2025. Fish cover is located in a remote location on the southern edge of the Keweenaw Peninsula; it is also the beginning of the hike to Montreal Falls. I got to the shore around 1o'clock that day and was greeted by a very stiff south wind, probably 15-20mph gusting into the 30's. The sky was mostly to partly cloudy, and Lake Superior was very rough with swells that were easily 10ft+. After doing some scouting and taking some test shots, I decided where I wanted to be at sunset. I spent the next four hours doing some reading and in prayer. The time eventually came for me to head to the location I chose for sunset. As I composed my shot, I watched the dark clouds appear on the horizon. As I waited for sunset the dark clouds were headed straight for me. About 20 minutes before sunset the first raindrops of the day began to fall. My perch was completely exposed and so I had no choice but to put my lens cloth over top of my camera and wait it out. Luckly it was a very brief and light shower, lasting just long enough to wet the rocks yielding much more saturation and contract than I had just moments before. The last of the clouds were racing overhead, revealing a glorious golden horizon before me. Show more
