THREE STAGES OF FILTRATION 🟢 Mechanical Filtration The dual sponge captures fish waste, uneaten food and suspended debris before it breaks down, helping keep your aquarium cleaner while protecting delicate livestock from strong filter intakes. 🟢 Biological Filtration The large sponge and dual media chambers provide an enormous surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise, converting harmful ammonia and nitrite into safer nitrate for a healthier, more stable aquarium. As the sponge matures, it also develops biofilm that shrimp and fry naturally graze on throughout the day. 🟢 Chemical Filtration Unlike a traditional sponge filter, the dual media chambers let you customise your filtration to suit your aquarium. Run activated carbon to remove medications, tannins and unwanted impurities, filter floss for crystal-clear water, or add your favourite biological media to further increase filtration capacity.
