Epoxy-Staked Configuration Chip This camera platform has one known weak point: the small EEPROM chip that stores the camera's image settings. Hard crashes can fatigue its tiny solder joints, and when a joint cracks, pilots see washed-out colors, a corrupted image, or a camera that stops outputting video entirely — often with no visible damage. Every camera we ship has this chip epoxy-staked directly to the PCB, the same reinforcement technique used in aerospace electronics. Crash energy transfers through the rigid epoxy bond instead of the fragile solder joints, so the most common crash failure on this camera is addressed before it ever reaches your bench. Bottom-Exit Wiring — Shorter Runs, Less Strain, Less Weight We rotated the camera orientation so the wires exit from the bottom of the board instead of the side. It sounds small. It isn't: Shorter wire runs. The wires point straight out above your flight controller, so you can build with less wire — saving real weight on a craft where every hundredth of a gram matters. Less strain on delicate wires. Top-exit wiring gets bent, snagged, and torqued during handling, canopy installs, and crashes. Bottom-exit routing keeps the wires tucked in line with the frame, dramatically reducing the flex-cycling that kills micro camera harnesses. Cleaner builds.
