Oil on MasoniteFramed12x18 Flaming June (1895) is a Pre-Raphaelite masterpiece featuring a neoclassical figure in a coiled pose. The image seems to reflect the Mediterranean heat. This canyon in Capitol Reef National Park is presented with the same sweeping curves and color palette, but the heat is pure American Southwest.
