It is a cross between a Bon Rouge and a Forelle pear. The variety has an attractive ruby red blush over a green/yellow skin coloring; the juicy sweet white interior fruit has a crisp-firm texture. All pears can be enjoyed fresh or used for cooking, baking, or canning. Flamingo Pears are especially beautiful in salads because of their colorful skin shade. These pears are also ideal for baking or eating raw with cheese.
