The AD5X switches between spools automatically during the print via the IFS. Purge requirements between colour changes mean some waste per transition, but the workflow is fully automated. Soluble support removal — using a water-soluble support material (PVA) alongside the main filament. Supports dissolve in water, leaving clean underhangs and overhangs with no manual support removal and no surface marks. This is the most practical benefit for engineering and prototype users. Multi-material functional parts — for example, a rigid structure with a TPU overmoulded grip section. The 300°C nozzle ceiling enables material pairings that require elevated temperatures. For high-shrinkage materials such as ABS or ASA, the optional enclosure kit is recommended to maintain a stable chamber temperature.
