This bottle of Cyanotype Bleach from Flic Film constitutes one component of a two-part process that enables the creation of images on various mediums. The cyanotype technique was developed by Sir John Herschel in 1842, and its formula has remained largely unchanged to this day. This method is non-toxic and straightforward, involving the placement of a negative over specially treated paper, which is then exposed to sunlight. Additionally, it can be utilized for photograms, which are images produced without a camera by directly placing objects on light-sensitive material and exposing it to light. Flic Film kits are designed to accommodate up to 50 A4-sized sheets. Both watercolor paper and cotton fabrics serve as excellent mediums for cyanotype printing. After bleaching, cyanotypes can be toned in a variety of colors using toners such as tea, coffee, wine, or any other liquid rich in tannic acid.
