The Flindt Wall Lamp translates the carved ellipse of Christian Flindt's 2017 bollard — an instant signature of Louis Poulsen's outdoor range — onto the wall. Perfecting it took ye ars of software modelling, 3D printing and metal casting: a perfect die-cast aluminium circle that appears to float off the wall, its glowing recess casting an asymmetrical, glare-free wash of light downward and a subtle ring of reflected light across its own face. Sculpture when off, crescent of light when on. Few wall lamps move between contexts this confidently: outdoors it flanks entrances, gates and terraces; indoors it brings architectural character to stairwells and hallways, freeing floor space entirely.
