Replace a flattened, torn or fuel-soaked gasket when the bowl seep s fuel or the carburetor is apart for cleaning. Clean the bowl groove and carb body surface before assembly so the new gasket is not pinched. Scrape only old gasket residue from the sealing faces, then verify the new gasket sits flat around holes and dowels.
