The Battle of Flodden (1513) was a Renaissance-era battle through which the Scots pursued an invasion campaign into England. On the day of the battle the Scots held all the advantages – they outnumbered the English, they were in an impregnable position, they were equipped with the latest weaponry and trained in battle tactics that had proved successful on many a continental battlefield. Against all odds, the medieval strategy adopted by the British at the time worked. They would open with simple artillery and archery outbursts, followed by melee attacks. The game recreates the real conditions, the Scots having heavier artillery guns, with a longer range but slower re-load. Alternatively, the English have light field guns with a rapid rate of fire. The WoFun bases for this set measure 30x20mm each, are made from MDF (2.5mm thickness), and come printed in green (grass texture). They are structured as follows: An Infantry Base holds 2 groups of figurines, in 2 ranks (one behind the other). A Cavalry Base holds 2 groups of figurines, in 2 ranks.
